I was surfing the internet the other day and came across vendors that sell spirit stones or other objects they say are embedded with succubi, inccubi, Djinns, angels, and other entities. My first question is of course, is it possible to trap a spirit in an object? Some how it just sounds a little too much like a science fiction storyline. My second question would be, if it is possible to trap a spirit in an object, how does one use it?
Comments? Opinions anyone?

In the Islamic philosophies yes, Djinns are quite often entrapped inside an amulet or other object and the nature of the Djinn (which can be good or bad just like we can) can be used by the user, or at least request to be used. Whereas in this philosophy, mankind is made from earth, the djinn were made from fire, but both were given free will, and because we are elementally different we exist in different dimensions and the djinn are effectively invisible to mankind, whereas to the djinn we appear visible but hazy.
I've no personal experience of it so can't really tell you. It would normally be considered part of the dark arts of Islamic religion. Perhaps you would learn more from someone who practiced it. Presumably you would want to use them for yourself?
In pre-Islamic times especially, the Djinn were often worshipped as Gods by their followers and it is often these 'Gods' that the Abrahamic God forbid his followers to worship.
There would be a good case to be made to suggest that Solomon had a Djinn serving him - if you take this line of thinking as accurate of course. -
